New pool at the new house

The old one sprung a leak, so we junked it when we moved. Mom got a new, bigger pool for the kids a few days back and we had been waiting for a good time to commission it. Unfortunately, the aunties have been thwarted constantly by the April monsoon.

Finally, on Sat, it was done and the kids had a whale of a time. We have uploaded a set of photos on Flickr. Enjoy.

Airport adventure

The little cheekies had a small adventure on 12 Apr, Wed. They went to the airport to send off ah ma and ah gong who are visiting HK for a week. I had a running bet with my mother who would reach the airport first so I actually arrived 45 min earlier just to beat her.

At T1 Rei Qi just went ballistics. She pointed to orchids and shrieked "Flowers! Nice flowers!!", pointed to the tubular water feature coming down from the ceiling and shrieked "Water fountain! Big water fountain!!". The airport was packed with people but I could always hear her voice clearly above the din of the human traffic. Rei Qi ran all over the airport with Auntie Ella in tow. Most times, I can't even see her but I certainly can hear her very well.

The whole gang went to the cafeteria for a bit of tea. By then Yi Han had already fallen asleep due to sensory overload. Rei Qi, however, was quite clearly placing her order for "mai-ooo" (Milo) which she slurped with a straw very very loudly. In fact, she was so caught up with her performance that it went down the wrong way and she choked. Ha ha ha ....

A compulsory trip to the viewing gallery got RQ all worked up again. She started shouting "airplane here, airplane there, 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10!" and jumped up and down in excitement. She didn't realize that the top railing was right above her head and she knocked it so hard that she just went totally silent for a while.

On our way home, she suddenly turned to me and said "Rei Qi want to go gai gai, don't want to go home" and then just fell asleep immediately after that. Yi Han then woke up and proceeded to try to pull Rei Qi's hair which was hanging tantalising near to her pudgy little hands. When Auntie Ella blocked her, little Yi Han would actually shout in protest and wave her arms around angrily.

Both girls should be quite interesting to watch when they get a bit older.

Yi Han is "standing"!

Little Yi Han surprised both Mommy and myself one night by letting go of the sides of her cot. She stood, quite steadily, for a few seconds and then sat herself down. Seeing that we both caught her in her act, she broke into the widest smile. We think she would start walking when she turns 1 in June.

Rei Qi had a whale of her time at Changi Airport Terminal One last Wed when she sent off her grandparents to HK. I am really tempted to bring her there again this Wed when they return. See if I could get Mommy to put down her heavy workload and blog about the last trip.
